Victoria Derby winner Polanski will enjoy one more week of leisure before getting to work on adding autumn riches to his already impressive record.

The $2 million Australian Derby at Randwick in April has gone straight to the top of trainer Robbie Laing's wish-list for the colt.

"It was always really high up there and then when I saw it had gone up to $2 million it became a number one priority," Laing said.

Polanski has had close to five weeks in the paddock since his Derby win at Flemington and will return to work in another week to start preparing for autumn racing in Melbourne and then Sydney.

The Group One Australian Guineas, Australian Cup and Australian Derby are all on the agenda.

Polanski will run second-up in the Australian Guineas (1600m) at Flemington.

"Depending on how he goes in that, and also what the field looks like, the following Saturday is the Australian Cup," Laing said.

Three-year-olds dominated the Australian Cup this year with Super Cool, second to Fiveandahalfstar in the Victoria Derby the previous spring, turning the tables on his rival.

Laing visited Polanski in the paddock during the week and said he looked terrific.

"He has put on weight and his coat looks great," he said.

Laing prepared fellow three-year-old Lord Of The Sky to win first-up at Caulfield on Saturday while his younger brigade of horses is also pleasing him.

Two-year-olds Boomwa and Golconda won during the Melbourne spring carnival and are being readied respectively for the Inglis Classic in Sydney on January 18 and Blue Diamond Preview on January 25.

"Boomwa is bigger and stronger," Laing said of the Maribyrnong Plate winner.

"He'll either have one run in Melbourne the fortnight before the Inglis Classic or have one run the opposite way."

Golconda won the Merson Cooper Stakes and Laing believes she will "take a power of beating" in the Blue Diamond Fillies Preview.

"She's a brilliant filly," he said.
