LE BONSIR RUNS 3RD IN A GROUP 1

Tuesday 8 October 2013, 9:41am

A large and proud group of owners travelled out to Moonee Valley with trepidation but returned home floating on air after our brave 6yo Le Bonsir ran out of his skin to run 3rd in the prestigious GROUP 1 Moir Stakes on Friday 27th September. A number of people (including myself who made the ultimate decision to run) queried as to whether running in this race was the right decision however, having personally watched every piece of work since day 1 I was convinced after watching his work Saturday and Tuesday and the positive comments made by his regular track work rider Nick Mehmet that this was his time to have a go right now and Le Bonsir didn’t let us down. To think where this horse has come from this prep in winning first up in town, then again at Listed level and now placing at a GROUP 1 it is fair to say that the fantastic group of owners involved in this horse have had their realistic expectations on performance this time in well and truly exceeded and tribute goes to our wonderful trainer Mick Price who we thank for his masterful training of the horse and indeed it was just reward for him for actually winning the Moir with his grand mare in Samaready.

Le Bonsir ran the race of his life perfectly positioned in running by Michael Walker which ended up being a carbon copy of his successful ride in the Chandler Macleod but unfortunately found two better horses in Samaready and Buffering on the night however Le Bonsir never gave up in the straight and was brave to hold on for third. We are very proud of our boy who earned $40,500 for connections and overall prize money now stands at $333,850. Le Bonsir will be continually to be placed to the best of our ability and may now head to one of two races over the Caulfield Cup Carnival on either Thousand Guineas Day OR Caulfield Cup Day.
