All Time Legend on song in Randwick return

Saturday 5 September 2020, 2:31pm

After an inauspicious start to his career, All Time Legend has begun to put it all together and the proof was in the pudding at Randwick.

The outsider of the eight-horse field in Saturday's Quincy Seltzer Handicap (1300m), All Time Legend ($21) packed too many punches to hold out Air To Air ($7.50) by a half-head.

Carmel Size, representing trainer Les Bridge, said the horse they nicknamed Elvis "because he's so cool" had presented several challenges on his racing journey.

"He was barred at his first start. We took him to Warwick Farm to run and he took on the inside running rail," Size said.

"He's a bit of a hothead. He has just been a work in progress."

All Time Legend is raced by Bon Ho, the owner of Everest slot holder Classique Legend.

When the latter travelled to Newcastle for a barrier trial last month, All Time Legend went along for the ride as his travelling companion.

Size said that trip was as good as a hitout for All Time Legend, who she expected to take good improvement from Saturday's run which was his first since April.

She also reported Classique Legend was continuing to thrive ahead of his next appearance in The Shorts in two weeks.

The grey worked at Randwick on Saturday morning with race jockey Kerrin McEvoy in the saddle and got the tick of approval from his team.
