ATC begins to distribute hay from appeal

Monday 17 February 2020, 12:12pm

More than 1700 bales of hay are ready to be distributed to properties on the NSW South Coast from funds raised at the Australian Turf Club's recent bushfire appeal race day.

As well as the roll-out of hay to the Cobargo and Moruya districts on Tuesday, the ATC Foundation will provide money to BlazeAid to source local materials to rebuild fencing in the area.

The appeal in conjunction with Racing NSW has so far raised $150,000 for bushfire relief with ATC Foundation's public officer Steve McMahon to be joined by the local member for Bega, Andrew Constance at the Moruya Jockey Club on Tuesday morning.

The distribution of funds from the Racing for the Bushfire Appeal comes in addition to the $500,000 being distributed by Racing NSW to thoroughbred racing participants and employees directly impacted by bushfires.

The South Coast was one of the places hit hardest by the recent bushfires which are now contained in NSW.
