Regal Power wins Railway Stakes

Saturday 23 November 2019, 9:31pm

Leviathan owners Bob and Sandra Peters and star jockey William Pike have combined for yet another Group One win in Perth with Regal Power in the Railway Stakes at Ascot.

Trained by Grant and Alana Williams, Regal Power ($10) started from the second-widest barrier and was well back rounding the turn.

But when Pike gave the horse full rein, he cut down the rest of the field to eventually beat Godolphin's Best of Days ($9.50) by half a length.

The win made it back-to-back victories for connections after Galaxy Star took out the 1600m-feature a year ago.

Regal Power came into the race after running second to Samizdat in the Group Three Asian Beau three weeks ago with his last-start conqueror fifth in the Railway.

Favourite Tellem We're Comin ($5), ridden by Sydney jockey Brenton Avdulla, finished 10th, 4-1/4 lengths from the winner.
