Brisbane trainer Desleigh Forster will saddle her first Ramornie Handicap runner at Grafton on Wednesday, confident Adebisi's first-up record can give him an edge in the famous country sprint.

The five-year-old hasn't raced since the end of March when he was injured during his attempted defence of the Bribie Handicap at Eagle Farm.

The Listed Ramornie (1200m) is to be the springboard for what Forster hopes will be another successful campaign in the southern states.

Adebisi had his first trip away from Queensland in December, taking the Listed Razor Sharp at Warwick Farm in Sydney before winning the Group Three Rubiton Stakes in Melbourne before finishing fifth in the Oakleigh Plate.

Both those races were at Caulfield where Forster said he didn't handle the home turn, leading to a run at Grafton rather than Saturday's Sir John Monash Stakes.

"He got galloped on during the Bribie. It was nothing major but we decided to give him a break," Forster said.

"The main aim is to take him back to Sydney and Melbourne and the Ramornie looks like a good race to start off in and he gets in well at the weights."

Adebisi, who has four wins from seven first-up runs, will carry 57.5kg, three kilograms less than 2012 Ramornie winner Howmuchdoyouloveme.

"There will be a lot of speed in the race which will suit," Forster said.

Forster will also have a hand in the other feature at the two-day carnival, taking Voila Ici on the float for her old boss Peter Moody to contest Thursday's Grafton Cup (2350m).

"We've been looking after him up here and he looks great for the Cup," she said.

After finishing second to Zennista in the Caloundra Cup giving the winner 4.5kg, Voila Ici concedes just 2kg at Grafton where he is topweight with 59kg.
