Luke Tarrant has key Eagle Farm rides

Thursday 24 October 2019, 7:34am

Troubled jockey Luke Tarrant gets a good chance to keep his comeback on the right course with two key rides at Eagle Farm.

Tarrant, 25, was stood down by stewards in July after he was placed on probation in a criminal court on drug charges.

He was granted a licence to resume under strict conditions two weeks ago and has since won three races at provincial tracks.

Tarrant was back in court on Tuesday where he was fined $950 for drug driving on charges from earlier this year.

The court heard Tarrant was undergoing strict rehabilitation and regularly tested for drugs with those tests clear.

He has five rides at Eagle Farm including key runners Tarzan in the Open Handicap (1000m) and Fighting Teo in the Open Handicap (1800m).

Tarrant has won six races on Tarzan and trainer Stuart Kendrick is keen to support the jockey in his comeback.
