Guineas hope The Holy One faces vet check

Thursday 10 October 2019, 12:51pm

Caulfield Guineas contender The Holy One will need to pass a veterinary test on race eve if he is to take his place in the $2 million race.

RV stewards said on Thursday The Holy One had heat in his near fore hoof and would be reassessed by a vet on Friday morning ahead of Saturday's Group One event.

The Holy One, trained by Trent Busuttin and Natalie Young, won the Group Two Stutt Stakes at The Valley over 1600m at his most recent start and was at $23 on Thursday for Saturday's Guineas (1600m).

First emergency Exeter has already gained a start after the scratching on Wednesday of Creator, with Guineas Prelude placegetter Groundswell next in line for a berth as second emergency.
