Field of 13 for Group One Memsie Stakes

Wednesday 28 August 2019, 11:03am

Seven Group One winners feature among a field of 13 for the $1 million Memsie Stakes at Caulfield.

Star Godolphin mare and favourite Alizee has barrier 11 while her stablemate Hartnell will carry the No.1 saddlecloth and jump from the inside barrier in Saturday's 1400m weight-for-age race.

Warrnambool trainer Daniel Bowman has decided to run exciting prospect Begood Toya Mother, with the gelding aiming for his seventh straight victory in his first Group One test.

Begood Toya Mother has the outside barrier.

The 2016 Memsie winner Black Heart Bart (barrier nine) is scheduled to make his comeback to racing after being retired last year.

The 2018 winner Humidor (barrier 10) resumes from an injury lay-off for his first start since finishing third in last year's Cox Plate.

Cliff's Edge, who finished second to Mystic Journey over the course and distance in the Group Two PB Lawrence Stakes last Saturday week, will jump from barrier two.
