Waller accepts with 10 for shot at record

Tuesday 18 June 2013, 5:06pm

Bookmakers think Chris Waller can train at least two of the four winners he needs to break a Sydney metropolitan racing record at Canterbury on Wednesday.

Waller has 10 acceptors across seven races at the midweek meeting with Madam Nash and Murder Of Crows expected to start favourite to win their respective races.

A runaway winner of the Sydney trainers' premiership, Waller has 152-1/2 winners for 2012-13 after a treble at Rosehill on Saturday.

Madam Nash, a last-start winner in Saturday company after setting up a long lead in the middle stages, will be out to continue her form in the Sharp Handicap (1900m).

Despite her 60.5kg impost, Madam Nash is a clear $2.70 favourite to go back-to-back for the second time in her 29-start career.

Lightly raced Murder Of Crows has only five acceptors against him as he tries to break through in the Australian Turf Club Maiden Handicap (1250m).

The three-year-old, part-owned by John Singleton, ran out of time to chase down stablemate Rastro at Canterbury earlier this month.

Murder Of Crows was part of the Singleton string of racehorses he removed from trainer Gai Waterhouse's stable in the wake of the More Joyous autumn carnival scandal.

Waller is dual-handed in three Canterbury races with Disclosure and Sense And Reason in the TAB Number 1 Handicap, Madam Nash and Trick Shot and Pentometer and Sergeant At Arms in the Tab.com.au Handicap.

He trained three winners at the corresponding city meeting last year when it was held at Newcastle.
