Flower stood down in Victoria and NSW

Victorian authorities will follow Racing NSW in standing down owner Damion Flower who is facing serious drug charges.

Flower, 47, and airport worker To Oto O Junior Mafiti were arrested on Wednesday after authorities uncovered an alleged trafficking ring operating at Sydney Airport.

The high-profile racehorse owner will front a bail hearing next week.

Racing NSW on Friday invoked a racing rule, AR23, asking Flower to show cause why he should be allowed to continue in the industry.

Horses he owns or part-owns will be allowed to race by any prize money will be held by authorities until the charges are determined.

Racing Victoria stewards said they would follow their NSW counterparts regarding Flower's participation.

"The RV Stewards will immediately adopt the RNSW interim conditions, pending the hearing and determination of the RNSW show cause hearing, meaning that (in summary):

* Prizemoney earned on Victorian races by Mr Flower (including through a company or a syndicate) will be frozen;

* Mr Flower's colours are prevented from being used in Victorian races, trials or jump outs; and

* Mr Flower is prohibited from participating in the Victorian thoroughbred racing industry.
