Viddora clear to run in Chairman's Sprint

Saturday 27 April 2019, 1:26pm

Australian mare Viddora has been cleared to start in the Chairman's Sprint Prize in Hong Kong but Zac Purton has lost his mount with Mr Stunning failing a veterinary test.

Viddora has been monitored since early this week when she was found to have some lameness in a hind leg from which she has now recovered in time for Sunday's Group One race at Sha Tin.

Trainer Lloyd Kennewell tweeted the news she had been declared fit to run on Saturday morning.

"Viddora has passed her vet check and will take her place in the Chairman's Sprint Prize @HKJC_Racing tomorrow. Thanks to Paddy Bell and all the vets for there hard work in achieving this. Bring on Sunday," Kennewell said.

A dual Group One winner in Australia, Viddora last raced in Dubai where she finished fourth in the Al Quoz Sprint in March.

Mr Stunning, winner of the Hong Kong Sprint in December, was ruled out of Sunday's race with ongoing lameness in his right front leg.

Last-start TJ Smith Stakes winner Santa Ana Lane also represents Australia in the Sprint with Enzo's Lad to run for New Zealand.
