Winx heads to Randwick for special gallop

Wednesday 3 April 2019, 6:18pm

One of Winx's final pieces of work before her planned farewell will be staged in front of a raceday audience.

The champion racemare has been confirmed for an appearance on the first day of The Championships at Randwick on Saturday.

She will strut her stuff over 1000m on the course proper in an exhibition gallop before the first race.

One of Australia's greatest thoroughbreds, Winx is set to bow out of racing in the Queen Elizabeth Stakes at Randwick on Saturday week.

She will be trying to claim the $4 million weight-for-age race for the third time.

Winx's winning streak stands at 32 and includes an unprecedented 24 Group One victories.
