Sunlight draws wide in William Reid Stakes

Wednesday 20 March 2019, 11:45am

A field of 11 has been declared for Melbourne's final Group One race of the year, the William Reid Stakes.

Favourite Sunlight has drawn the outside barrier in Friday night's 1200m sprint at Moonee Valley as connections look to erase the demons of her only unplaced run in 14 starts under lights at the track in October.

Sunlight will be joined by Embrace Me as one of two three-year-old fillies in the race while Written By is the only colt.

The Anthony Freedman-trained mare Shoals has returned from Sydney following her first-up run and will jump from barrier five while the Lindsay Park-trained Ellicazoom has drawn barrier one for Luke Nolen.
