Dwayne Dunn suspended at Mornington

Monday 10 June 2013, 5:46pm

Dwayne Dunn will consider appealing the severity of a careless riding suspension after being handed a two-week ban for a winning ride at Mornington on Monday.

Dunn pleaded guilty to shifting out at the 500m mark of the Orbit Fitness Handicap (1600m) on High Aims, causing interference to a rival runner, but was stunned when stewards ruled the level of carelessness was in the high range.

He was suspended for 14 meetings and will start the ban after Sandown on Wednesday.

Stewards have adjourned an inquiry into a fall earlier in the day which resulted in jockey Kane Bradley being taken to hospital with a broken nose and a cut lip.

Bradley's mount Rock It Ruby fell approaching the home turn of the Hyland Race Colours Plate (1200m).

Evidence was taken from jockey Glen Boss as well as Peter Mertens but stewards adjourned the inquiry until they could speak to Bradley.
