Leading stallion Sebring has died of a heart attack at Widden Stud aged 13.

The winner of five of his six starts including the Group One 2008 Golden Slipper and ATC Sires' Produce Stakes, Sebring was trained by Gai Waterhouse for a Star Thoroughbreds syndicate.

The champion two-year-old of 2007/08, Sebring went to Widden as a three-year-old and his progeny includes Group One winners Dissident, Criterion, Egg Tart, and Amphitrite.

"Sebring was the horse of a lifetime, as a racehorse and a stallion, he changed lives," Widden's Antony Thompson said.

"It's been a great privilege to stand him at Widden and we are incredibly grateful to everyone that has supported him throughout his career and given him the opportunity to succeed in the way that he has.

"His influence will no doubt be felt for many years into the future and we look forward to seeing the legacy he leaves through his sons and daughters in generations to come."
