Quality nominations for Australia Stakes

Five Group One winners feature among the nominations for the Group Two Australia Stakes.

Friday night's weight-for-age 1200m-sprint at The Valley has attracted 16 nominations including six horses from the stable of Victoria's premier trainer Darren Weir.

Weir has Group One winners Brave Smash, Land Of Plenty and Voodoo Lad entered along with last-start Standish Handicap winner Whispering Brook, last-start Flemington winner Chauffeur and stakes-winner Fifty Stars.

Multiple Group One winning-sprinter Redkirk Warrior is likely to kick off his campaign in the race while the other Group One winner nominated is Malaguerra who won the Australia Stakes in 2017.
