June Stakes plans for talented country sprinter Pentasia are likely to shelved in favour of another Queensland race on Saturday.

Pentasia made a winning start to a campaign headed towards the Ramornie Handicap at Grafton next month with a brilliant Doomben win.

Trainer Marc Quinn was hoping to give the mare her next start in the Listed June Stakes at Randwick on Saturday but he concedes he is likely to head north again.

He has been forced into a U-turn because the chance of a rain-affected track at Randwick has been complicated by the unavailability of the jockey he thought he had booked to ride the mare.

"Randwick could be wet and Josh Parr has to ride for Darley so I haven't got a jockey," Quinn said.

"I'm leaning towards running her in Brisbane now but I'll accept in both places and see what happens on Wednesday," Quinn said.

Sydney jockey Christian Reith rode Pentasia in the Chief De Beers Quality and he will have the mount again if she runs in the Lightning Handicap at Eagle Farm.

Quinn says Pentasia won't start between Saturday and the Ramornie Handicap with the trainer wanting to round off her preparation for the time-honoured bush sprint with a barrier trial.

Reith has already been booked for the Ramornie ride.

The June Stakes has attracted 28 entries with Neeson, now with Hawkes Racing after making a name for himself in Sydney with Joe Pride, and Rarefied sharing the 60.5kg topweight.

Rarefied is one of three nominations for Darley with trainer Peter Snowden also entering Skytrain (59.5kg) and Sessions (54kg).

The Stayers Cup (3200m) has been left with 14 entries, including Victorian galloper Unchain My Heart, a last-start winner over the distance at Flemington.

Trained by David Hayes, Unchain My Heart has 56kg with Permit, unplaced in three starts since running second in the Manion Cup, the 59kg topweight.
