* As a 20-year-old Kerrin McEvoy steered Brew to victory at 14-1 in front of a crowd of more than 121,000.

2016

* Sixteen years later McEvoy declared he appreciated his second Cup win more than his first. Riding the $11 chance Almandin for trainer Robert Hickmott, the victory was owner Lloyd Williams's fifth in the race that stops the nation.

2018

*McEvoy rides Cross Counter for Charlie Appleby to claim his third Melbourne Cup win and the first for Dubai ruler Sheikh Mohammed who had been trying for 30 years.
