No joy for Yendall in Mildura Cup pursuit

Friday 27 July 2018, 5:13pm

Chasing a sixth straight win in the Mildura Cup, jockey Dean Yendall has finished out of the placings aboard Kenjorwood.

Yendall started his Mildura Cup winning streak on the Darren Weir-trained Lord Of Brazil in 2012.

He followed up on Out Of Coober for South Australian trainer Bill Smart in 2013 before scoring on Flyingconi in 2014 for Shea Eden.

The race was not run in 2015 before Yendall teamed with Weir to win in following years with Gingerboy and Broadway And First.

One of three runners in the $80,000 race for Weir, Kenjorwood finished fourth, just behind stablemate, the $2.45 favourite Plein Ciel, with Mr Individual finishing ninth.

The Patrick Payne-trained Husson Eagle, ridden by Billy Egan, defeated outsider Sentinum in the 1400m-race.
