Waller has five hopes for another Qld Oaks

Wednesday 23 May 2018, 11:36am

Hall Of Fame trainer Chris Waller will saddle five runners in the Group One Queensland Oaks at Doomben.

Waller is attempting a third win in the race in the past four years after victories with Winx in 2015 and Egg Tart last year.

He saddles the favourite Youngster (barrier four), Savacool (12), Another Dollar (two), Impulsive (six) and Miss Shanti (one).

A field of 16 has accepted to contest the 2200m Oaks on Saturday that also includes Melbourne-trained fillies Aloisia, Sheezdashing, Play That Song and Coral Coast.

The Gai Waterhouse and Adrian Bott-trained filly Joyfilly Ours will jump from barrier five.

A field of 11 has accepted for the Kingsford-Smith Cup over 1350m.

Chasing a second Group One win of the Brisbane winter carnival, English has drawn the inside barrier.

English won the Doomben 10,000 on May 12 for the Waterhouse and Bott combination.

Godolphin has accepted with Impending who will wear the No.1 saddlecloth and jump from barrier nine.

Waller has one runner, Endless Drama, while first-up Gold Coast Guineas winner Champagne Cuddles, the only three-year-old in the field, has drawn 10.
