So Si Bon claims another Flemington victim

Saturday 19 May 2018, 5:47pm

Serial biter So Si Bon has had another racing ban placed on him after infringing for a third time at Flemington.

So Si Bon earned his latest black mark from Racing Victoria stewards after finishing third in the Colin Hayes, AM, OBE Hall Of Fame Trophy on Saturday.

Jumping from barrier two, So Si Bon took a nip at Yesterday's Song which had drawn inside him.

Lindsay Park co-trainer Tom Dabernig said a decision on So Si Bon's career would be decided by owners while stewards have placed an indefinite ban on the gelding.

"The stewards have put a ban on him until they hear back from the owners," Dabernig said.

"They want to find out whether he's going to be retired to stud or whether he'll be gelded to then race on.

"Until then he can't race, or trial."

The four-year-old has one win and further eight placings to his credit from 25 starts.

So Si Bon first bit a rival runner in the Sandown Classic last spring and then at his first run following his transfer from Robbie Laing to Lindsay Park attacked former stablemate Missrock in the Newmarket Handicap.
