Ryan Wiggins in timely Gold Coast success

Saturday 5 May 2018, 11:59am

Jockey Ryan Wiggins gave a timely reminder of his ability after missing most of the Queensland season with a winning pick-up ride on Denbern at the Gold Coast.

Denbern ($4.20) charged home late to beat Dauphin De France by a length with a short head to Estikhraaj in the Attwood Marshall Handicap (1800m).

Paul Hammersley was to have ridden Denbern but was ill and Wiggins picked up the winning ride.

Wiggins rode a double at Caloundra on Friday night and he now has three wins from three rides since returning.

He has missed sections of the season to ride in Mauritius and because of injury.

"I am really looking forward to getting back into riding full swing," he said.
