John Allen appeals Caulfield riding ban

Tuesday 13 February 2018, 6:22pm

John Allen has lodged an appeal against a careless riding suspension incurred at Caulfield.

Allen was suspended for nine meetings after pleading guilty to the charge aboard Goldstream in The Big Screen Company Handicap (1800m) last Saturday.

His suspension started following last Saturday's meeting and is due to end at midnight on Sunday.

The Racing Appeals and Disciplinary Board will hear the appeal on Thursday.

The RAD Board has fined trainer Danielle Loos a combined total of $3500.

She was fined $3000 after a pre-race blood sample taken from Anemoi at Caulfield on October 18 last year detected the prohibited substance Triamcinolone Acetonid, a corticosteroid, and a further $500 for failing to record the administration of the medication by a vet.
