Lane and Allen suspended at Orr meeting

Jockeys Damian Lane and John Allen have been suspended for careless riding in separate incidents at Caulfield.

Lane was suspended for 10 meetings aboard Lake District Girl in the fillies division of the Blue Diamond Prelude on Saturday.

Racing Victoria stewards said after shifting out, Lane allowed third over the line Lake District Girl to shift in and cause original fourth-placed Seabrook to be checked.

A subsequent protest fired in by Damien Oliver on Seabrook was successful with the placings reversed.

Lane will start his suspension after he rides Andrea Mantegna in the Hobart Cup on Sunday and will return for the Caulfield meeting on February 21.

Allen was suspended for nine meetings after causing interesting aboard Goldstream in the Big Screen Company Handicap and will start his suspension after the Colac Cup meeting on Sunday, returning on February 20.
