Andrew Noblet's stable stars Silent Sedition and Super Cash will chase a feature double when they make their first appearances of the year in separate Group races at Caulfield.

Noblet has defending champion Super Cash in Saturday's Group Two Rubiton Stakes (1100m) while Group One-winning mare Silent Sedition takes on her own sex in the Group Three Bellmaine Stakes (1200m).

Silent Sedition has top weight of 59kg under the set weights and penalties conditions but is clearly the highest-rated runner and Noblet believes last year's William Reid Stakes winner is well-placed to make a winning return.

"I'm really happy with her," the Caulfield trainer said.

"It looks like a good option for her first-up and she's a quality mare.

"If she runs up to what we're accustomed to she'll be hard to beat."

Silent Sedition was narrowly beaten in the Bellmaine Stakes a year ago and Noblet is putting the mare on the same path to her first Group One target of the autumn, the Coolmore Classic in Sydney.

Silent Sedition will run second-up in the Mannerism Stakes (1400m) on February 24 at Caulfield, a race she won last year, before trying to go one better in the Coolmore Classic (1500m).

"She had barrier 18 last year in the Coolmore and nothing against the winner (Heavens Above), but it probably cost her a bit," Noblet said.

"Hopefully we can get up there in the same order and get a better result."

Super Cash takes a formidable first-up record into her Rubiton Stakes defence.

"She won it last year and she's four out of five first-up," Noblet said.

"She's ready to go."

Super Cash was at $5 on Thursday with Group One-winning three-year-old Merchant Navy the $3.20 favourite ahead of another three-year-old colt Ardrossan at $4.80.

Noblet said it was a strong field but added Super Cash was in great order.

"She just does what she has to in track work and then trials up well when there's a bit of competition around her," Noblet said.
