Nature Strip to miss Warwick Farm

Thursday 8 February 2018, 9:49am

Boom Melbourne sprinter Nature Strip will not travel to Sydney with trainer John Sadler unhappy with his blood picture.

Nature Strip was to take on dual Group One winner She Will Reign in Saturday's $250,000 Inglis Sprint at Warwick Farm.

Sadler, who took over the training of the three-year-old this week, told Sky Sports Radio the blood test indicated he may have the beginnings of a virus.

"He threw up a pretty ordinary blood," Sadler said.

"I think he's fighting a little bug so we'll keep him in the stable and treat him over the next couple of days then he'll have a little break."

Nature Strip, the winner of four of his five starts, was the $2.50 second favourite behind She Will Reign who was the $1.55 favourite before his withdrawal.
