Added incentive for Important Cup victory

Premier trainer Tony Gollan always loves winning races for the Huddy family but admits he has a special reason to chase success at this time of the year.

Golan will saddle top sprinter Most Important who will be having his final start for this campaign in the $100,000 Sunshine Coast Cup (1400m) on Saturday.

Most Important is owned by Linda Huddy and won the summer triple crown in 2016.

He has not been as successful this summer but did win the Listed Lough Neagh Stakes last month and was second in the Buffering Quality.

At his most recent start Most Important was fourth in the Magic Millions Cup after having little luck.

Gollan has had a lot of success for Linda Huddy and her husband Graham, most recently with Most Important's full sister Of The Day at Doomben last week.

"Of the Day was coming back from stakes company and it was obviously easier. But I have no doubt she can win a black-type race in the future," Gollan said.

Of The Day and Most Important are by I Am Invincible out of Marmalade Sky making Of the Day already a valuable broodmare proposition.

The Huddys, who now run Peachester Lodge, north of Brisbane, were big spenders at the Magic Millions yearling sales.

They outlaid $1.9 million for five yearlings including fillies by top sires Redoute's Choice and Exceed and Excel.

"I am not certain where the horses are going at this stage. They have a lot of trainers but I always tell Linda not to forget me," Gollan said.

"I hope a couple of wins around now might mean I get an extra one."

Most Important has won eight races and $783,775 in prize money as well as a $500,000 bonus for winning last year's triple crown.

"He has been great for us and apart from a blemish in a trip to Melbourne he has been most consistent," Gollan said.

Gollan is well clear in the Brisbane premiership with 51 winners for the season.
