Volkstok'n'barrell to race in Singapore

Wednesday 24 January 2018, 1:30pm

Multiple Group One winner Volkstok'n'barrell will spearhead Donna Logan's Singapore stable when the New Zealand trainer makes a delayed start to the new phase of her career.

Logan is recovering from a fractured skull and facial injuries suffered in a fall last month which has prevented her flying to Singapore.

Logan's training partner Chris Gibbs said Volkstok'n'barrell would not race again during the New Zealand summer carnival.

"We're just keeping him ticking over until he heads up there," Gibbs told NZ Racing Desk.

Volkstok'n'barrell has won four Group One races, the Herbie Dyke Stakes (2000m), New Zealand Stakes (2000m), Haunui Farm Classic (1600m) and the Rosehill Guineas (2000m).

His most recent start was in the Zabeel Classic on December 26 when he finished third in the Zabeel Classic.
