Sydney's jockey-of-the-moment Tommy Berry isn't getting ahead of himself, but his future employers are already preparing for his arrival in Hong Kong.

Berry has cleaned up in Sydney's two richest races this autumn, claiming the Golden Slipper on Overreach and last weekend's Doncaster on Sacred Falls.

And he has excellent prospects of adding to his big-race tally at Randwick this weekend with important early rides in most of the features on Sydney Cup day.

At same time the wheels are in motion in Hong Kong where he has his first rides next Wednesday.

"I've got six rides already at Happy Valley and four or five the following weekend," Berry said.

"There's a lot to look forward to ... it's the best racing in the world over there, great jockeys, great trainers."

While Berry's two-month contract in Hong Kong takes him out of Australia for the first time in his life, he is undaunted as he prepares to fulfil an ambition to ride against Hong Kong's champion rider for the past decade, Douglas Whyte.

"I only got my first passport two weeks ago," he said.

"But I'm really looking forward to getting over there and riding against jockeys like Douglas Whyte and Zac Purton.

"I've heard Douglas is pretty competitive, but so am I."

Before he leaves Australia, Berry has an important book of rides at Randwick to deal with, including Melbourne Cup runner-up Fiorente in the Group One All Aged Stakes.

Berry also has an early booking for Silent Achiever in the Group One Queen Elizabeth Stakes, Decision Time in the Hall Mark Stakes and Driefontein in the Carr Stakes.
