All Too Huiying set for next step to Derby

Sunday 19 November 2017, 3:47pm

All Too Huiying is relaxing before the next stage of his development which will be another step up in distance to gauge his suitability as an Australian Derby contender.

Rosehill trainer Gary Moore had considered running the three-year-old in Saturday's Sandown Guineas but after All Too Huiying won the Listed Seppelt Wines Stakes (1800m) at Flemington last Thursday week, plans changed.

Moore opted to send All Too Huiying to Limitless Lodge for a short let-up and he returns to Rosehill at the end of the week.

A $150,000 yearlng at the Adelaide Magic Millions sales, All Too Huiying has won his last two starts over 1800-metres, but Moore was slightly wary about the horse handling 2000m and beyond.

"I don't think it will be an issue getting to 2000 because he lobs along just off the bit, very much European-style," Moore said.

"I don't think the trip will worry him but as a three-year-old is he seasoned enough?"

Moore said All Too Huiying would have a barrier trial on December 11 ahead of an 1800m-race at the Gold Coast on December 23 as a lead-up to the Magic Millions Trophy (2200m) on January 13.

He said the Magic Millions race would determine whether All Too Huiying could realistically push on to the Group One $2 million Derby (2400m) at Randwick on April 7.

"Winning (the Seppelt) at Flemington was a highlight of my training career and I'm expecting great things from him in 2018," Moore said.
