Trainer Robert Hickmott is moving on from his role at Macedon Lodge with six-time Melbourne Cup-winning owner Lloyd Williams.
Mr Williams confirmed employee Liam Howley would replace Hickmott once his application is approved by the licensing sub-committee this month.
Howley has been assistant trainer for the past seven years.
Hickmott has saddled up two of Williams’ Cup winners - Green Moon (2012) and Almandin (2016) - since he took over from John Sadler almost a decade ago. He had been with the organisation for approximately 13 years in total.
The 48-year-old Hickmott pulled on the boots and played for Melbourne in the Australian Football League before breaking a leg.
The Australian attempted to contact Hickmott but he has yet to return the call.
