Trainer Toby Edmonds' decision to geld well-bred Whypeeo continued to pay dividends when the three-year-old won for the third time at Doomben on Saturday.

Whypeeo was sent out a $1.16 favourite and won accordingly, strolling home for an easy win.

It took his record to four starts for three wins and an unlucky fourth when he bungled the start at Doomben last month.

Edmonds was in Melbourne with stable star Houtzen with his son Trent in charge of the Brisbane team.

"The funny thing is he could not go a yard when he was a colt," Trent said.

"We tried blinkers on him but it wasn't until we decided to geld him that he turned the corner."

Whypeeo will now have three weeks in a paddock before being brought back to prepare for the Magic Milions Guineas (1400m) on January14.

Whypeeo is by leading sire I Am Invincible and took his prize money to just under $100,000.

Winning jockey Jeff Lloyd said once Whypeeo mustered pace he had been able to dictate the race.

"He was never in any danger and he is a good horse in the making," Lloyd said.
