Thomas Sadler to join Tulloch Lodge

Monday 14 August 2017, 6:05pm

Young Victorian jockey Tom Sadler will relocate to Tulloch Lodge in Sydney to ride for the Gai Waterhouse and Adrian Bott stable.

The 23-year-old, who has had an up-and-down career most recently punctuated by a one-month suspension for improper riding, says he is looking forward to the change.

"Joining the @GaiWaterhouse1 team for an indefinite period. Will be making the most of this big opportunity and new challenge in my career" Sadler said on Twitter.

Earlier this year Sadler rode his first Group winner when Observational, trained by his father John, took out the Group Three Easter Cup at Caulfield.

"Talented young jockey @tomlsadler relocates to Syd to join the Waterhouse/Bott stable. Plenty of potential" Waterhouse tweeted.

Sadler has ridden trackwork for the stable's Melbourne operation at Flemington.

Multiple Group One and Sydney premiership-winning jockeys Blake Shinn and Nash Rawiller were both recruited from Melbourne by Waterhouse.
