Jockeys Lever, Pitomac remain in hospital

Wednesday 9 August 2017, 7:51am

Jockey Chad Lever will see a plastic surgeon for treatment on a gash above his eye, one of several injuries he suffered in a fall at Scone.

Racing NSW's Dr David Duckworth said on Wednesday Lever was in the neuro ward at Newcastle's John Hunter Hospital, a day after the fall.

Lever also has concussion and soreness to his jaw and thumb.

Fellow rider Daniel Pitomac is also in John Hunter after being transferred from Scone Hospital after he fell in a barrier trial after Tuesday's race meeting.

Pitomac has lower back pain and will undergo scans to determine if there are any breaks.
