Rescheduled Bletchingly has 14 entries

Tuesday 1 August 2017, 2:00pm

Eleven of the 13 horses entered for the abandoned Bletchingly Stakes have been nominated for the rescheduled running of the weight-for-age race at Sandown.

Monash Stakes winner Supido is a notable omission for Sunday's 1200m-race which has been added to Sunday's Grand National Hurdle and Crisp Steeplechase meeting.

The Bletchingly Stakes was one of five abandoned races at Caulfield on Saturday because of dangerous winds, but officials were able to re-program the feature race.

There were 14 entries taken on Tuesday with nominations extended until Wednesday morning.

Supido had been favourite on Saturday but trainer Mick Kent and the horse's owners have reportedly decided to wait for the Group Two McEwen Stakes (1000m) at Moonee Valley on September 9.

Adelaide sprinter Daytona Grey is the other original Bletchingly Stakes entrant not nominated for Sunday.

Multiple Group One winner Lankan Rupee, who is set to have his first start since last spring, headlines the nominations.

Lord Of The Sky, last year's winner, is one of the additional entries along with Oscar's My Mate Pa and Jungle Edge who will run in Saturday's Missile Stakes in Sydney.

A race has also been added to Saturday's Flemington program because of Saturday's abandonment, with 23 nominations taken on Tuesday for the 2000m handicap for four-year-olds.
