The Sydney jockeys' premiership will decided during the final metropolitan meeting of the season at Rosehill.

Hugh Bowman leads Brenton Avdulla by 2-1/2 wins, with a late-season surge underscored by his treble at the Canterbury midweek meeting.

Bowman has eight rides at Rosehill to add to his 81 city winners and win his fourth title.

Avdulla, who sat out two city meetings through suspension earlier this month, has seven chances.

Both jockeys had runners scratched on Friday with Avdulla, who was already sitting out race two, consigned to another break when the Kim Waugh-trained King Viv was withdrawn from the Schweppes Handicap.

Bowman misses the last race after Kris Lees scratched Rustic Melody.
