Fancies draw awkwardly in Caulfield Stakes

Wednesday 10 October 2012, 11:42am

A compact field and wide draws for two of the fancied runners have deepened interest in Saturday's Group One Caulfield Stakes.

Looking to bounce back from his Underwood Stakes defeat as an even money favourite, Manighar has drawn barrier six in the eight-horse field.

The winner of the Underwood, Kiwi raider Ocean Park, has drawn immediately to his outside in seven.

Alcopop has come up with the outside alley while Bart Cummings-trained import Sanagas has the rails.

Memsie Stakes winner Sincero has gate two and will be bidding to prove himself over the 2000 metre journey and stake his Cox Plate claims.
