Regan Bayliss injured in Geelong fall

Friday 19 May 2017, 2:50pm

Jockey Regan Bayliss is expected to be sidelined for several weeks after breaking his wrist in a fall at Geelong.

Bayliss was riding the Lindsay Park-trained Amschel in a maiden on Friday when the two-year-old fell approximately 200m after the start.

The young jockey, who claimed his first Group One win on Redkirk Warrior in the Newmarket Handicap in March, recorded a career-high five winners on the Geelong synthetic track on Tuesday, all for Lindsay Park.

He has been replaced by Cory Parish on Faatinah in Saturday's Group One Goodwood at Morphettville in Adelaide.

Dean Holland, the rider of Wanna Be Good, was dislodged in the incident at Geelong and escaped injury.

Group One-winning Adelaide jockey Dom Tourneur is also out of action after suffering multiple fractures to his left foot in a barrier mishap.
