You're So Good to tackle Vinery

Friday 22 March 2013, 8:40pm

An assault on Sydney's major fillies' staying races is firmly on the agenda for You're So Good after her victory in the Listed Alexandra Stakes at Moonee Valley on Friday.

Having achieved his aim of adding a stakes win to her credits, trainer Nigel Blackiston will now look to the next step of a Group One success.

You're So Good took control of her latest assignment from the jump, travelling strongly in the lead and still having enough in the tank to hold off Kazanluk by 1-1/2 lengths with Summerbliss a short head further away.

Blackiston's first mission in Sydney will be the Group One Vinery Stud Stakes at Rosehill on April 6.

"There's no doubt she deserves a chance at Group One after that," Blackiston said.

"The Vinery is the race for her and then we'll think about the Oaks."

You're So Good placed herself among the top rank of Victorian three-year-olds with her second placing to Ferlax in the Australian Guineas.

But it was her ability to lead and keep running that appealed as much as anything else to Blackiston.

"That gives us plenty of options," he said.

"To be able to relax in front like she did could be a major asset as the races get longer."
