Goodrich RAD Board hearing deferred

Tuesday 17 January 2017, 6:05am

Victorian trainer Kate Goodrich's hearing in front of the Racing Appeals and Disciplinary Board has been deferred until March.

The RAD Board had set next Monday as the date for the hearing into a charge against Goodrich, but the trainer's legal representative made application at a directions hearing on Tuesday for the hearing to be adjourned until March 6.

The RAD Board accepted the application.

Goodrich will not be allowed to nominate any horses to race until the charge has been heard and the result determined.

Goodrich has been charged with not allowing stewards from Racing Victoria's compliance assurance team to conduct a race day stable inspection on December 12 and examine Street Stalker who was entered to race at Kilmore that day.

Stewards say Goodrich refused to obey a reasonable direction to allow an inspection of the horse, which they say obstructed or hindered them from carrying out their duties.

Street Stalker was subsequently scratched by stewards.

Goodrich has had a long-standing grievance with the Kilmore Racing Club and RV.

She posted on social media at the time of the Street Stalker incident she had offered to let the CAT inspect her stable in the presence of police.

Goodrich also said she then offered to take Street Stalker to the track for inspection by race day staff but that was rejected.

RV has refused all nominations from Goodrich and Racing NSW has followed suit pending the result of the inquiry.
