Loyalty Man to be dual acceptor

Tuesday 10 January 2017, 2:05pm

The Magic Millions Cup is Mike Moroney's race of choice for last-start winner Loyalty Man but he has a back-up option in Sydney.

Loyalty Man is entered for the $1 million Magic Millions Cup (1400m) at the Gold Coast on Saturday and also the $100,000 Maroubra Mile (1600m) at Randwick.

He is equal 19th in the Magic Millions Cup ballot with a field limit of 16 plus emergencies.

""We'll be paying up in both places," Moroney said.

"If he makes the Magic Millions, all going well we'll run, but he's also in the mile at Randwick so we'll be paying up in both places."

The barrier draw could also play a role in the decision, should the gelding make the Magic Millions Cup field.

Loyalty Man raced in the right-handed direction for the first time in Sydney last start when he won over 1550m at Canterbury on December 31.
