Tommy Berry to miss Magic Millions

Friday 23 December 2016, 6:51am

Tommy Berry will miss the chance to add to his two wins in the Magic Millions Classic because of a careless riding suspension from the Wyong lead-up meeting.

Berry's suspension for causing interference aboard third-placed Dinnigan in Thursday's $200,000 Wyong Magic Millions begins on January 7 when he completes a similar ban from last Friday night's Canterbury meeting.

His latest suspension ends on January 15, the day after the rich Magic Millions meeting at the Gold Coast.

Berry won the 2011 Magic Millions 2YO Classic on Karuta Queen and again the following year on Driefontein.

Victorian filly Madeenaty, ridden by Mark Zahra, won the Wyong Magic Mllions for trainers David and Ben Hayes and Tom Dabernig to confirm her favouritism for the big race.
