Dunn picks up Hong Kong Derby ride

Thursday 7 March 2013, 1:33pm

Dwayne Dunn's recent run of success has led to an international opportunity in Sunday week's Group One Kong Kong Derby.

Dunn has been booked to ride for trainer John Size in the feature race at Sha Tin.

Size has It Has To Be You and Endowing in the Derby with Dunn set to partner Endowing.

Dunn has claimed Group One wins in the C F Orr Stakes and Futurity Stakes on star colt All Too Hard in recent weeks in Melbourne and has a top book of rides at Flemington on Saturday including Ortensia in the Newmarket Handicap and Foreteller in the Australian Cup.

He rode a treble at Sandown on Wednesday, along with a treble on Blue Diamond Stakes Day, and believes it has led to the opportunity.

"Obviously they watched me ride yesterday and the phone call came last night," Dunn said.

"You never know who is watching. I'm really looking forward to the next month of racing. I've got some nice rides."
