Takedown touches down in Hong Kong

Wednesday 30 November 2016, 4:45pm

Australia's most recent Group One winner Takedown has arrived in Hong Kong where he will contest the International Sprint.

The Gary Moore-trained four-year-old received a late invitation to the Sprint (1200m), one of four Group One races on International day on Sunday week.

By the time the invitation was issued, Takedown was in Perth where he won the Group One Winterbottom Stakes on Saturday.

He was sent back to Melbourne on Monday and arrangements were made for a flight on Tuesday rather than send him back to Sydney.

He arrived safely in Hong Kong in the early hours of Wednesday morning.

Australia's other representative in the Sprint, Rebel Dane, will fly out of Sydney as scheduled on Sunday.
