Seven horses trained in the eastern states of Australia feature among a full field of 16 plus four emergencies for the $1 million Group One Railway Stakes in Perth.

Multiple Group One winner Black Heart Bart, who began his career in Western Australia before being transferred to Victoria's premier trainer Darren Weir, has top weight of 59kg in Saturday's 1600m handicap at Ascot.

He is joined in the race by stablemate Ulmann while the other eastern states contenders are the Chris Waller-trained duo Tom Melbourne and All Our Roads, the Gai Waterhouse and Adrian Bott-trained Supply And Demand, the John Sadler-trained Observational and Lindsay Park's Sovereign Nation.

Those horses arrived in Perth on Monday morning.

Local galloper Scales Of Justice, trained by Lindsey Smith, will be trying to defend the Railway Stakes and will again be ridden by multiple Hong Kong champion Douglas Whyte.

Scales Of Justice is the $5 favourite ahead of Black Heart Bart ($7), Supply And Demand ($8) and Tom Melbourne ($9), with the barrier draw to be be held on Tuesday.

Two-time Railway Stakes winning jockey Craig Williams has the ride on All Our Roads with Damien Oliver to ride Tom Melbourne.

Brad Rawiller continues his association with Black Heart Bart while Damian Lane rides Ulmann and Chris Parnham is aboard Sovereign Nation.
