Jim Crowley released from hospital

Tuesday 1 November 2016, 6:01am

Champion British jockey Jim Crowley, one of two riders hurt in a four-horse pile-up at Kempton that led to the meeting being abandoned, has been released from hospital.

The Injured Jockeys Fund released a statement saying his fellow rider Freddie Tylicki was conscious and in a stable condition in intensive care.

The accident happened as the field rounded the home turn in a maiden on Monday when Tylicki's mount and another came down.

Crowley was immediately behind and was brought down, as were Steve Drowne and Ted Durcan.

Both Drowne and Durcan walked back to the weighing room but Tylicki and Crowley were attended to on the track for some time before being taken to the major trauma unit at a nearby hospital.
