Blake Shinn to ride Gallante in Cup

Blake Shinn will bid for his second Melbourne Cup win after being booked for the Lloyd Williams-owned Gallante.

Shinn rode Viewed in 2008 to give trainer Bart Cummings his 12th and final win in the Cup.

Gallante gave Williams his fourth Sydney Cup in the autumn with the owner trying to win the Melbourne Cup for a fifth time.
