The Veal Thing Is The Real Thing

The Veal Thing is The Real Thing

KRD Racing's little Snitzel Filly "Snitty" - known as "The Veal Thing" - saluted yesterday at Echuca in fine style at only her sixth start on a Heavy 10.  In her first campaign, Snitty has been placed in all starts and earned in excess of $30k in prize money.  She is a tough competitor, with a never say die attitude and she overcame some highly fancied rivals today much to the surprise of the racing community in Victoria, but not to KRD's team.

In a carefully orchestrated plan, KRD targeted this race and the weather, scratching from a midweek meet at Rosehill to travel to Echuca to not only secure her maiden victory; but to also take advantage of her Super Vobis and Vobis Gold status.  Nyssa Burrells, who has been riding Snitty for her past few rides rated and rode her beautifully to secure the win, with her race fitness telling in the final stages.

This was a great thrill for the entire team, given the level of attachment KRD's seriously injured Track Rider, Kate Nipperess has to Snitty.  Kate has subsequently, on the back of this win (whilst almost throwing herself out of the wheel chair) started to move her legs of her own accord and is clearly starting to overcome the paralysis she has suffered from her horrific accident some 10 weeks ago now, coming out of Spinal Cord shock.  KRD are so happy for Kate and look forward to her continued improvement over the coming weeks.

A great training job by Craig is now seeing the fruits of his efforts and the team come to fruition and deservedly so.  With the team starting to fire on all cylinders, KRD are looking forward to the spring and continued success at all levels.
