Stewards fine Karakatsanis over treatment

Saturday 1 October 2016, 6:37pm

Trainer Con Karakatsanis has landed himself in more hot water with stewards fining him for not reporting a treatment he gave to Howmuchdoyouloveme.

Karakatsanis admitted to treating the sprinter on Wednesday before the Group Two Premiere Stakes at Randwick on Saturday where Howmuchdoyouloveme finished last.

He pleaded guilty and was fined $600 for failing to tell stewards something which may have affected the horse's raceday perfomance.

It comes two weeks after Karakatsanis was charged for having unregistered substances at his stables when stewards withdrew Howmuchdoyouloveme from The Shorts at Randwick on September 17.

He was also charged with giving false evidence during a stewards' inquiry.

Karakatsanis is already operating on a stay of proceedings pending an appeal against a four-month disqualification for improper practice.

Stewards determined five horses in his name were being trained by their owner.
